About MeHi, I’m Calvin Hillgrove — an illustrator and visual developer with a BFA in Illustration from BYU–Idaho, specializing in character design, storyboarding, and worldbuilding. My work focuses on visual storytelling that inspires, entertains, and leaves a lasting impact.I’ve collaborated with companies like Handmade by Robots, helping design merchandise for major IPs including DreamWorks, Crunchyroll, Illumination, and Universal Pictures. My experience spans concept design, graphic novels, toy design turnarounds, and visual development for narrative-driven projects like Fizz and my own original stories.Whether I’m designing characters, crafting environments, or building props, I strive to create work that is not only visually compelling but emotionally meaningful. I design 2D and 3D props that support worldbuilding and storytelling, with an emphasis on clarity, function, and visual consistency across production.• Factory-ready 2D turnarounds and color callouts created for licensed products at Handmade by Robots, in collaboration with DreamWorks and Crunchyroll
• 2D props created in Photoshop, Procreate, and Clip Studio Paint; stylized 3D props modeled in Maya (basic) with clean topology and animation-ready design
